Apply for an administrative review of your application decision

You are only eligible for an administrative review if your decision notice says so.

Reasons to apply

You can apply if you think there has been an error in your decision:

  • under the Frontier Worker Permit Scheme, or if your Frontier Permit has been revoked
  • as a Service Provider from Switzerland
  • for entry clearance, permission to stay or settlement
  • for cancellation of your entry clearance, permission to enter, or permission to stay (including permission as a Service Provider from Switzerland) at the UK border

If you are not eligible for a review, you may have a right of appeal. If you do, your decision notice will tell you.

You can read the GOV.UK guidance about appealing against a decision.

You must apply by the date found on your decision notice.

What you pay

You will pay £80 for each review.

This application is free if you did not pay a fee on your original application, unless the original application was:

  • under the Frontier Worker Permit Scheme
  • as a Service Provider from Switzerland

Reviews for family groups

If your application was as a family group, with a main applicant and dependants applying at the same time, you can apply for a review for the whole group.

If you apply for a review of your application decision as a family group, it will cost you £80.

Evidence

The application form will tell you if you can give us new evidence for review.

If you are giving us new evidence, you must do so within 10 working days of applying online.

If you do not do this, your application for review may be refused.

What happens after the review

You can only apply for a decision to be reviewed once.

If you get a new decision after your review, you may be able to apply for a review of the new decision.

You may also be able to apply for a review if the decision is the same but based on new reasons.

Your decision notice will tell you if you can apply for a review of the new decision.
